Funk singer Betty Davis had a lot of influence in music for someone who didn't have a lot of success on the charts. As Miles Davis' 2nd wife she is credited for introducing the trumpet legend to hippie and funk fashions, and for his personal introductions to Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone. Rumors of an affair with Hendrix are what broke up the marriage between Betty and Miles, but her infuence on him was permanant.
