Heavily embellished, the eyewear pieces have a feeling of opulence, underpinned by their artisanal detailing and Baroque aesthetic. A pairing with Swarovski sees custom-made multi colored crystal chains, hand poured and hand painted ornate resin detailing and fine crystal finishing with elegant tassels and rich flocked veil for a true touch of maximalist verve. Inspired by a brilliant range of references – from the Byzantine era to the rebellious spirit of Johnny Rotten, A- Morir has captured a strong new mood all of its own – one that’s just perfect for a brave new season. There are only seven colors in the collection: gold, silver, siam, capri, emerald, jet and white; the cohesiveness brought to light by the designer, who modeled in the FW14 campaign, shot by Kareem Black, marking their fourth creative collaboration. This season was inspired by luxury from a number of different cultures: the opulence and colors of the Byzantine empire, Middle Eastern spice markets, the artwork of Gustav Klimt, the concept of confrontational dressing brought to light by Vivienne Westwood and Johnny Rotten and the giant baroque desk in the A-Morir studio that the designer, Kerin Rose Gold works on every day. This season introduces wrap around lariat eyewear, with elegant crystal trimmed tassels, and veiled eyewear made of high quality flocked polka dotted bridal veil available in two different lengths. Each piece is hand embellished in the A-Morir studio in Manhattan by a select duo of artisans that the designer personally trained in her technique. A-Morir is a recognized Swarovski Co-Brand and all of the crystal elements are Swarovski. The siam, emerald, capri crystal chain set in golden findings is a custom made chain by Swarovski for A-Morir for the FW14 season. As usual, the pieces were named after musicians; this all girl collection was named for the women in The Runaways, The Gogos, The Bangles, Shampoo, and some of Prince’s beautiful protégés.
