Each piece is then meticulously hand-embellished by our dedicated team at the a-morir studios in the heart of New York City. Designed by a-morir founder Kerin Rose Gold, the “Counterculture” collection was inspired in equal parts by the wealth of cultures experienced on a return visit to her homeland in the Middle East, and the revolutionary ‘90s Riot Grrrl movement she revisited in Sara Marcus’s retrospective Girls To The Front and Kathleen Hanna’s autobiographical documentary The Punk Singer. The “Counterculture” collection seamlessly marries the rebellious and defiant spirit of Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, and Sleater-Kinney that soundtracked Gold’s youth with mystical talismans from the Druze village, Shouk ha Carmel and Old Jerusalem that she has kept since childhood. The raw, defiant beauty linking these inspirations shines throughout Gold’s one-of-a-kind designs and bespoke pieces. Manufactured in limited quantities, a-morir is only available at select retailers, ensuring the wearer a high level of exclusivity.
